Band:  Fashion Week

Before coming together in November 2012 the members of Fashion Week, Jason Turner, Andrew Lee, Tyler Earnest and Joshua Miller, had already compiled an impressive collective resume that includes international touring, opening for Gungor, 21 Pilots, Kasabian, Gringo Star and Kasabian, and, least tellingly, sharing a beer with Marcus Mumford.

Fashion Week has opened for the band Churchill (#9 on Billboard Heatseekers chart, Jimmy Kimmel), Royal Teeth (iHeart Radio Rising Stars, Carson Daly) and released two albums; Darker Things (2013) and The Future Is Amazing (April 28, 2014).

Musician:  Frank Palangi

Palangi fuels a feeding frenzy of contemporary rock with that gritty old school kick. His style is like a high end sports car with a 1970 Muscle Car. At the core is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a unique bass rock voice constantly pouring his heart and soul in to his work. You can hear mixtures of his influences but can tell he is not copying any one sound off the bat. Where there is smoke, there’s fire but there’s always a breath of fresh air to hear a new and exciting artist that’s not afraid to take chances with his music.

Band:  Bloody Diamond

Bloody Diamonds is a Canadian rock band with dirty, heavy riffs and seductively powerful vocals. Their intense live performances and raw sound are the result of Sara’s dark, eerie melodies and Jake’s crunchy blues riffs. The two bring together a classic blues rock sound with a modern, gothic twist and enough attitude to keep your eyes and ears hooked.

With the gloom of early Black Sabbath, and the modern feel of Band of Skulls, Bloody Diamonds bring a sense of urgency to every stage they play. Since their formation in 2011, the band has been relentlessly touring their hard-hitting rock show throughout Canada, playing hundreds of shows, and releasing a full length LP and 7” single during this time. The band’s in-your-face passion for rock n’ roll earned them a nomination for Loud Recording of the Year at Nova Scotia Music Week, and showcases at NXNE, CMW, and Halifax Pop Explosion. Their music has also received placement on television, along with international radio airplay.

Band:  Digital Collapse
Emerging from the remnants of previous projects (Tapered Mind, Absolution), Digital Collapse has risen with veteran finesse in their self-titled debut EP, produced by Clint Lowery (Sevendust, Call Me No One, Dark New Day). The album showcases their knack for writing accessible music that’s not overly reliant on catchy hooks, but on cold hard musicianship. The vocals (Corey Kipps) effortlessly volley between melodic ease and intense screams. Creative guitar lines (Ian Zuckerman, Tyler Metz) breathe a bright but gutsy energy, framed by gritty, crafty drumming (Tom Godin).
